Try the waves of the Gulf of Levanto and the Versilia coast!

No one knows how many waves were dashed in the past on the coast Levanto without someone was there to ride it , but certainly those who will come in future will not be breaking in vain since Levanto has become in recent years an undisputed goal of surfing in the north of Italy .
The wide gulf allows the creation of surfable waves mostly when south-west winds blow and Maestrale – sometimes – but the sea is feasible even with strong winds Scirocco . The presence of sandy bottoms ( in the commercials and the Casino of the Stone) , mixed ( pipette ) and rock ( Nadia and Gritta ) allows the formation of waves of different sizes and qualities, but the fame of Levanto- considered by many to be a “big wave spot ” – is due mostly to the size (no more than 3 meters) of the waves can generate under certain conditions.
For this reason , each time you are going to break down a storm in Levanto – it is winter or summer – you can see on the walk over the sea real flocks of surfers , impatient, waiting for the right moment to enter.
The official recognition of the surfing circuit has not been slow in coming: in recent times Levanto has hosted surf events of great value as the ” Quicksilver Big Wave Invitational ” in 2000 and 2001, and the ” Blue Salomon Games” in 2005 , events that have permanently led to the consolidation of a true surf culture in the country.

Rafting in Val di Vara

This sport practice consists of descending rapids more or less demanding on board special rafts in order to accommodate more people.
Rafting or white water rafting is the challenging recreational outdoor activity of using an inflatable raft to navigate a river or other bodies of water. This is often done on white water or different degrees of rough water, in order to thrill and excite the raft passengers.
Like all outdoor activities, rafting must balance its use of nature with the conservation of rivers as a natural resource and habitat. Because of these issues, some rivers now have regulations restricting the annual and daily operating times or numbers of rafters.
